Share the Ride. Pictures, Videos and Stories From the Road or Trail

Great video! When we do the Park Loop we go to stables and ride the carriage roads back to the visitor center, my wife doesn't like the 2 way traffic from Jordan Pond to the visitor center. We did 35 miles on the carriage roads today, not too crowded.
I'll try to talk her into Cadillac Mountain next year. LOL
First pic is from Park Loop at Otter Cliff a few rides back.
We did see a porcupine on the carriage road today.
My Loop Road ride was on Tuesday morning. I was riding my Wilier Road Bike, (not electric and about 16 pounds). I rode 34 miles of Carriage Roads that afternoon on my eBike. I have ridden the Loop Road and up Cadillac many times, but it has been quite a few years a since the last time and I didn’t know if I still had it in me. The grade isn’t too bad. I think that it averages about 6%. There is some 9%, but a short section goes down to 3%. You just have to pace yourself and enjoy the changing view and the reward of the views and the ride back down.

I did it twice on one day about 20 years ago, (the second time was a test ride on a Merlin road bike, (the Merlin came home with me).

I agree with your wife about the two way portion, but I‘ve never been good at following my better judgement. No video or pictures can do the place justice. I’m glad that you are up there enjoying the park and that the government shutdown was averted and the park was kept open. Ride safe.

Sunday we did 35 miles on the carriage roads, went back Tuesday and did 20 and also found the old foundation of a house that was going to be built on Eagle Lake.

Today I was able to get my annual Precipice hike in, park was crowded but only ran into a few hikers on the way up.

Everybody I dont have any fancy video or spectacular places to go. But here is a couple pics of a 20+mile gravel ride.

I just got this bike a couple days ago & been trying to run the batts down once, to see the pure electric mileage. I've been riding pretty much full throttle these past couple days. Got 51miles of full throttle rides soo far & 2 battery bars left.

This is Cross Creek, it was once home of many native tribes. North of here about 20miles is the ghost town of St.Clere once home to Heavyweight boxer Jess Willard.

I'll try & go by there & show his old homestead, or what's left of it.

Thanks for viewing.

Our foliage is coming along, but peek is probably still about a week away. Yesterday, October 4th was in the mis 80s, (I think that was a record). The images are from my GoPro and taken on the road that connects Tyson and Reading Vermont. The ten mile road ascends and descends approximately 1200'. The foliage was as expected, better at the high point.

The ride covered 55.56 miles with a little under 4,000' of climbing.

We were riding through Brownsville Vermont yesterday and met this group. The grey Harleys are a 1915 and 1916. Both are F head V twins and both have done the Cannonball Run.

Please don’t let me turn this thread into “The Django Show”.

Today was a beautiful late summer day in the North East US.

South Woodstock, Vermont. This is not a tourist “country store”. It is a real general store, cafe and Post Office.

Sugaring house. The blue lines are piping for sap collection, (these have pretty much replaced the tap and bucket).
