Himiway Cruiser brake swap

My heavy ebike seems to need the brake cables tightened too often. Does anyone have advice on converting to a hybrid hydraulic system? Will I get significant braking improvement? less cable stretch?

I put a pair of the cheap hydraulic calipers on mine and they've been great. $43 on Amazon. I know there are better ones out there but I really didn't want to spend 3 times as much for them. The hydraulic calipers are quieter and smoother stopping than the mechanical calipers that came with the bike. They were easy to install too. I've only had them for a week or so, so I can't comment on adjustments other than the initial adjustment when I installed them.
