Buy a kit and install it on a bike you already have. Best bang for the buck.
First, define the type of riding, type of surface, load carried, speed and range desired, then, match the kit, and donor bike, to the task you wish it to do.
You wouldn't buy a skinny tire road bike for rough trail riding, Would You?
