Hi all,
I just bought a schwinn 27.5 ridgewood ebike (no battery) yet for pennies at a yard sale and would like to convert it over to a fat tire rig. Main goal is using it for hunting and some mtb (conditioning for hunting) trails by the house. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Open to any and all ideas. Thanks

That has 27.5 in x 2.20 tires, you could try 2.5 or 2.8 tires but you won't get 3" or 4" tires on there

How did you find a battery ?

Even with a battery - the Ridgewood 27.5 has a 250w rear hub motor - and when it was introduced and sold back then 250W was not uncommon (roughly $1200-$1,400 and on "sale" for $1.000 back then) .

In today's eBike space - 250W for "trails" or for "fat tire's" - you will be "anemically disappointed).

Today's eBikes in that $1,200-$1,400 price point today are 750W-1000W - and eBike's today in the $600-$800 range are 500W min.

"Fat Tire's" are usefull in rough trail work running at lower tire pressure (like 15-16lbs) - for comfort mostly - at lower pressure and since trails can be challenging - again 250W is not going to make you happy !
