Lets start with charging through the output port. Most BMS have ZERO protection against overcharging thru the output port. An overcharged LION battery is potentially EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS. Charger defect, or if actually using two different voltage batteries, which is incredibly stupid in a consumer-grade product, just picking up the wrong charger.
Outside of that, a parallel setup also bypasses the over-Discharge protection on one or both batteries BMS, the stronger battery will mask any weakness in the lesser, which can lead to another extremely dangerous condition.
Imagine 40-50 small roman candles going off sequentially, mostly just sparks, smoke, and flame, no flaming balls. Although, considering that it could go off at any time, and they are usually mounted directly under your crotch, FLAMING BALLS are a very real possibility.
