Yip, I have the lower assist settings fairly low and not difference between them, and the switch mounted on the bars next to my left hand means I can quickly switch between the settings at any time, without having to reach down. As you'd no doubt know, reaching down to find the buttons can sometimes be fiddly and break your rhythm. I wouldn't be without it now as I find I flick between settings more, using the bike to its full potential.
