Importing an E-Bike and US Customs

I bought a new Ducati Futa Limited e-bike Road Bike in the UK and it is pending Customs clearance but US Customs is questioning if it is a motor vehicle subject to NHTSA regulations. I've purchased over a dozen ebikes from China,
none of them are considered as "motor vehicle" that require registration or licensing when imported into the US.
Manufacturer or seller should prepared and provided all the required documents for the ebike to clear US customs along with the shipment.
Likely you will have to go back to the seller or manufacturer for the documents required to clear US Customs.
