Just got a "sort-of-working" bike
Schwinn fat-tire Speedrid, about 2 or 3 years old.
Battery seems to charge OK, runs a few minutes and then shuts down.
No display, totally dark.

Next morning its OK again, for 3-4 minutes.

SO, how do I figure it out?
Is it battery, controller the display module, or even the motor?
Seems to me I check the battery first, but I'm clueless about how to diagnose the controller.

and where can I get parts?

Idk if these work or not. But here is a ebike diagnostics tool/break out box. Its for testing purposes. Like I said I'm not sure if these work or if they are a waste of money.

They work ..for what they are really..just have to dig around the internet with some of them to find
the user manual.
Yeah I'm used to using a breakout box to diagnose electrical problems on trucks. I thought I read that these work once you find a manual as to what the lights are trying to tell you.

It looks handy to me, I'll order 1 just to have. A guy could make breakout harnesses for the different bikes as well. I see there is company's making bike specific 1's but at $100-$200 thou.

yeesh, seems to have an awfull lot of wires!

battery is 2 wires, maybe 3 if there is 12v as well
motor is 3 wires,
I never saw a brushless motor with more than that
may be wrong here folks, always willing to pick up some new info

controller who knows?
dozens of wires for mode-control etc, but in reality it needs
- a power-switch
- a sensor-input, the hall sensor, some setups do not need it
- the PWM output,

thats 7 wires max

Are you saying there is a awful lot of wires on the ebike tester? Thanks.
