On my Big Cat Fat Tire ebike, when I place a fully-charged battery into the frame and onto the plug, the battery-level indicator won't turn on, and neither will the LCD display screen on my handlebar. Total darkness. Take the battery out of the frame, push the level-indicator, and voila, a full battery. Any ideas? This is driving me crazy. And yes, I know Big Cat isn't a great brand

could be anything from a wiring connection problem any were between the battery plug or contacts down to the controller and back to the display. or could be a problem with the controller or the display crapping the bed on you.

tho if the display on the battery wont show any thing when its in the bike there could be a short some were in the wiring.

Break out your voltmeter and check for continuity in your wiring - e.g. disconnect your display and see if there's voltage getting through - if you can find power at the connector plug to the display then it's possible your display is broken or your controller output to the display is faulty...this will let you slowly narrow down on where the problem could be.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the BMS in the old battery (5 Years old) and looked on the internet and found a fix for it but you have to open your battery up to reset the BMS. It worked afterward but not to be done by inexperienced and faint of heart individuals. Also will void warranty and may cause battery fire if done incorrectly. Good luck.
