I'm looking for long mileage tires for my Lectric XP cargo. Specifically ones with theads for snow or bad terrain. I saw some on Amazon but the reviews say either they last 30 or so miles or that the rubber is old and rotten. I am under the impression that E bike tires have to be resistant to the speeds and loads. Apparently regular 3 inch cruise or bmx tires can fail.
Am I right on that? Any help is appreciated.

Check out the Sunlite Freestyle K-Rad 20x3.3 tire, I think that tire would be fine, I dont think the extra 3/8" of tire width will be in the road of hitting anything. Wonder if 20x4 tires would fit without hitting things. Chain, wheel stays, stuff like that. A lot more 20x4 tire choices.

I know right! A ton of 20 x 4. Tomorrow I will make measurements of the fork and rear hub space.
Now... Is it risky to install a wider tire? Could it pop out of the rim at 25 mph?

I'm not sure what rim width you got. If the rim with was 2.5-3" wide, I would not see a problem running a 3-3.5" wide tire. Also kenda makes a tire called a Kenda K905 K-Rad tire that is 3.3" wide & is a good tire & ebike rated.

DieselTech is Spot -On with his recommendation - GREAT TIRE(s) FOR YOU - if you are going to do serious riding !

Going forward to Tire Upgrade - add - (1) set of Mr Tuffy "Lime XL" tire liners like $40 - (2) add FlatOut Sportman Formula Tire Sealant 12oz each tire like $20

@DieselTech

My rims are 2.236 inches wide. Those are not 3 inches right? I think I can buy thinner tires, don't you think?

I would not be afraid to put the 3.3" Kenda k905 K-RAD tire on that rim of yours. I also think the 3.3" Sunlite K-RAD tire is made by Kenda.

I build gas bikes as a hobby, most of my bikes run 45-55mph+ down the highway. I run a 2.25"- 2.5" wide tire on my 1.25"-1.50" wide rim & have not had a tire issue.

I think you will be fine with them 3.3" tires on your rims.

I remember my 2 stroke days :)
I may still have posts over there heh heh ;)

These are Mr Tuffy 2XL lime. They measure 2.5" wide.
The tire I bought is 3.3 wide (not delivered yet)
The tube is shy of 1/8" wider at each side.

Would that Mr Tuffy work or do I need to buy a wider one?
