Sometime when taking off I use the button to help with pedal assist. I take off from a stand still without touching a pedal Yeah

My Bosch system really doesn't supply motion without pedaling; sometimes I can feel it 'overrunning', but that generally requires high boost setting, and a downhill stretch.

I have a bafang mid drive motor. It has a setting that allows you to change how long peddle assist lasts after you stop peddling

I'm on a cheap KT system and it does cut out pretty quickly once it realises you aren't pedaling. When set to a one stage soft start it a really comes on pretty gradually and feels pretty natural.

On my Bafang 750 w mid drive I have adjustments I can make on the controller from 1 to 5 Eco mode and the 1 to 5 sport mode. When I am in a lower Eco mode it limits how fast I can go in each setting. As I want to go faster I just turn the numbers up. When I stop peddling it stops assisting unless I push the throttle button.
