Bosch classic. Battery shows full but display shows one bar

I have a problem with a 2015 Batavus e-bike with Bosch classic line motor.
The battery charges ok and it shows that it is full. However when I put it in the bike the display shows only one bar. It works and propells the bike for a short while until it shows zero bars and shuts down.

When the battery is inserted the battery symbol in the display blinks one time and starts to display km/h. So it looks like it recognizes the battery ok.
I have cleaned the battery contacts and the display contacts.

Does someone have any idea of what the issue could be?

Sounds like time to find a Bosch dealer to see if they can connect their tools to see what the issue is. Hopefully they can fix you 8 year old bike.

Disconnect and reconnect the wiring, in case there is a buildup in resistance.
If display has a master reset function, you can try that. You may lose the mileage …

Might be a firmware issue. It always disappoints me how the Germans make these nice, polished-looking products, but electronics are hit-or-miss. Then, their attitude is: "It's old and you didn't maintain it correctly; it's your fault." and walk away.
I hope I'm wrong and you can get some satisfaction.
