Which brand is the best ebike? Cost is not the issue, I want quality. I need a bike that can do at least 80 miles round trip.

Not trying to be an a$$ but maybe a Honda Trail 125 would be better suited to your needs.
Some of us, speaking only for myself just do NOT want to hear the noise anymore! I worked with noise all my life and raised two daughters as a single father. The very best thing about E-bikes in my opinion is the silence! Of course they have many other wonderful attributes.

try a
specialized "Vado" pricey OTH I hear well worth it. You are going to find something that pedals easily non powered is a game changer( think tires and weight.)

Very good answer.

First, you should qualify how much exercise you're wanting to get in the process. Are you looking to just "ride the loophole" and use mostly motor power?

How fast do you anticipate going?

Depending on your answer, you could have a relatively inexpensive, lightweight eBike or a super-heavy eMoped with multiple batteries.

Also, it seems like Class 3 eBikes are illegal for trail use in NV:

...so consider that before you buy some 30 mph eMoped. You're willing to spend money for quality, which is a refreshing surprise, but you don't want to spend the money only to get nicked immediately by some overzealous cop. ;-)

I've known people to wait for months for Specialized parts and then the work had to be done at the dealer. Given our current import situation, (Specialized bikes are made in China and Taiwan) you would be throwing your money into a sinkhole, if you bought one, IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestion. That looks like a good off-road option. However, the bike paths here in Vegas don't allow gas powered vehicles, including motorcycles, on the trails.

Looks awesome!
I read an article about them a few years ago, they're made in Ukraine by a company who's main business was a courier service (Delfast) but they couldn't find an e-bike that met their needs so they started building their own and then they started selling them.

They hold the Guinness world record for an e-bike going 245mi on a charge. Obviously not going 50mph but still impressive.

the good thing is you may have long love affair with the bike before a need for propritary parts something to consider, the major bole shops in this region are well stocked with specialized bikes and I really don't see the need for bike mechanics on minor repairs:cool: as a matter of fact for whatever reason that's the only brand you can reliably find around here( don't ask my why) the other go to seems to be "townies" any reasonably priced on line bike seems to disappear on a regular basis.

I need a bike I can do at least 80 miles round trip on the bike trails here in Nevada, on a single charge. I want quality. What do you recommend?
About the only way you'll find that bike is, you'll have to make it yourself, or find someone to build it for you..

Illegal in NV, esp. on bike trails.
If you were to hamstring it down to Class 2 levels, then you will have wasted about $3k of that $5500 price on performance you won't use.
It's like buying a Corvette for a city car.
Do you think that any people who buy Corvettes keep it under the speed limit at all times?

And what about sport bikes, they are made for breaking the law.

I realize that these examples are not illegal to own but I guess they should be under the same logic that powerful e-bike are illegal.

It doesn't seem that way to me at all. Having an e-bike that can be used on trails as a level 2 e-bike and yet can be opened up for riding on city streets that can keep up with traffic would be the best of both worlds for a lot of people. The fact that it has more than twice the range of pretty much any other e-bike is pretty amazing, but yeah expensive huge Lithium ion battery packs aren't cheap.

Just because it can go fast doesn't mean that you have to to get the value of this bike, it's also about it's incredible range.

People are recommending a number of different e-bike here that don't have the range that the OP is asking for here. How many $2,500 e-bikes have a true range of 80 miles much less 200 miles.

I agree, but from my quick read of the NV law, it is a blanket ban on anything above Class 2, not that it is allowed on the street but not on a bike path. I could be wrong.
