What category should I be posting in for E-dirt bikes like SurRon's Stealth bombers, etc.?

Surron's I have seen don't have pedals. No pedals, it's not a bike.

There are many important and meaningful legal distinctions. Different goals for the equipment, as well.

Electric motorcycles should have their own category, plus some are exclusively off, or on-road, some meant for both.

The "ped" part of emoped implies that there is at least an effort to simulate a street-legal, enhanced bicycle.

The Surron is in no way an enhanced bicycle It is electric, but the connection ends there.

Then there is the issue of getting too granular in your database design. At some point, using "Other " starts to make sense.

While I'm at it, look at all the categories for various brand-name bikes, most of which I never look at because I've never heard of them. Also note the number with VERY few posts.

There should be a generic Troubleshooting section, not seperated in any way, as most folks have no clue what is actually causing their problem, also in most cases the problem is not at all brand-specific.

A battery problem with a BrandX ebike is not a BrandX problem, it is a battery problem. A problem with the motor not running is likely NOT a motor problem, more likely a battery or controller problem and not brand-specific at all.

Post their problem in Troubleshooting, plus a link and short description in the brand-specific section. There could also be a header advising adding a link and posting a picture of their bike, possibly adding a zoom view of the problem area, so I don't have to keep telling folks that 'I can't see it from here".

I'd be happy to write up the header along with picture-posting instructions, also with some in-depth about the troubleshooting process.

Good point, we shouldn't mix pedals and non-pedals in one subforum. This forum mainly deals with "ebikes" rather than "emotorcycles". So maybe a catch all forum is needed for everything else.

The brand forums are not real forums, you can not post directly to them. They are virtual forums. Threads are automatically indexed into them whenever the brand name is used in the title of the thread. The actual thread exists in another forum.

A catch all ebike Troubleshooting forum is a good idea too.

While I have your attention, what is your official stance on posting direct links to product for sale outside of the for sale section?

IMO this leads to people pimping product they are making a buck on, such as most recently dangerous "battery blenders" for which the pimps themselves have now admittted that a part of the advertisements they were posting contained DANGEROUS mis-information about combining batteries of different baseline voltages.

I do not believe those ads were being posted because people were genuinely recommending a product. They were pimping a piece of unsafe crap simply to make a buck on the deal.

Paid endorsers are legally required to disclose their status in most countries. There is a very good reason for this .

It'd be eaiser to just link us to the suspected ""direct links to product for sale outside of the for sale section""

I'm sure you Understand.

Either link them here or send us the suspected links through our mail sysyem here.

User fabbrisd. Dozens of them. Only checked the last three. Almost every post he makes. Starting with Battery Blenders, a clearly unsafe product.

Clarify that the last three I checked are flagged as Affiliate Links, meaning commissioned salesperson. Fairly certain ALL of his links are so identified, all I have checked go to the same online retailer, only checked the last three in detail.

I see. I checked and seen that as well....I'm not sure he's actually spamming for that/those companies.
We see that user as helping others or trying to as you do. Your doing hella better these days I've seen and meant to ask you how life has been.

I'll wait for an answer from @Anton on this for a bit....in my opinion the said member could tidy up those links/shares a bit though

It is not Spam, it is Selling Product for Profit. Affiliate Links exist to extract payment.

The "recommendation" of a paid salesman is not an honest endorsement. It is paid speech.

"I like Brand X product Y" is fine, "Buy it HERE so I make a buck on the deal without disclosing that to the reader", is fundamentally dishonest and misleading.

Google "Amazon Affiliate Link" for what they are and how to identify them.

Also, reference our previous discussion, you never did answer my question. I KNOW the answer, just want you to be aware.

I know as well.
We're not very concerned with that at this time.
We'll address that at a later date.

I think "bike" applies to bicycles and motorcycles. Perhaps a better distinction. How about "Electrically-powered, throttle only" bike?

In the USA we are not as restricted on speed (perhaps I should say "enforced on speed"). A possible catch-all for could be:
"35 MPH and up".

This will include many stock factory Ebikes which come new with higher power and speed.
This will allow all the "speedsters" a single place to talk about things like "combiners" without tainting the more generalized conversations.
