Waterproof cover for ebike battery necessary?

Is it ok to use a waterproof cover over the battery on my ebike? I have a RadPower Mini Electric Folding Fat Bike. There's no mudguard on the bike and there's been a bit of rain and mud around lately so I'm worried of getting water all over the battery. I'm worried the battery wont get enough cooling. I would only use the cover in the rain though and remove it in good weather.

Have a look at your manual, ebike batteries are usually water resistant. A cover will be ok in freezing temperatures but could overheat the battery in hot weather due to lack of cooling.
