Hey everyone,

My bike is a Velotric Nomad 2x.

I want to get a better headlight for it but do not want a stand alone rechargeable headlight. I would like to power it off the existing plug wired to the onboard bike battery (see attached photo) I do not not know the name for this plug type or know if there is an adapter to change it to a more popular type.

Any positive advice would be appreciated.

That plug is certainly proprietary, one of Velotric's favorite hobbies. Hop over to this thread. This light will go straight to your battery hook up. I don't know if the Nomad 2x uses xt60 or xt90 plugs, but adapters are easy enough to find.

That 'moto' headlight wouldnt be legal on a moto.
The best headlights have a cutoff lens that wont blind oncoming traffic. DOT rated vehicle lights have this.
I bought a blinding handlebar light and wound up pointing it down and not using high.

Consider a helmet mounted light. They are always pointed where you want them.
They dont have to be extremely bright or expensive to do the job.
These run 2 hours, are cheap, and you can point them directly into drivers eyes when you want to.

The true 'moto' style, full cutoff, lights are difficult to find.

If you want to do some engineering and get a terrific light, this Ride1Up Revv1 Light is $50. The bracket is $10. It has daytime running light, high beam, low beam, and a weak horn.
The low beam is full cutoff and wide. High beam is narrow.
The light can be directed far down the road without 'overlighting' the close up.
My overbright, unfocused handlebar light made the nearby so bright, I couldnt see the far distance.
This full cutoff light is focused to be brightest at the far range and less bright close up, which makes the road perfectly, evenly lit.
I worked with commercial lighting for 20 years, so I know good lighting when I see it.
