I've heard from a couple different people, that if you order a new YL81F Display direct from manufacturer in china it will come unlocked.
Any one know if this is true ?
My bike is a boombike S1 duel motor, 48 volt 22.4 battery. Chuck
If you do this, and it works, let me know Chuck.
I heard sometimes the limit is hard set in the "controller" (the box which directly powers the motor). This can be done in the controller to keep a 20 Amp controller from being burned out, after it is told to deliver 30 amps. The same is true for a controller which limits you to 32 MPH, which is told to raise the limit to 38 MPH.
On my bike (which is a close cousin to yours), it will jump me up to 32 MPH. And when my step-son (who is half my weight) is on it, it still hits that 32 MPH wall and stops accelerating. When I added some LARGE saddlebags, and loaded it with another 20 pounds of stuff, my top speed did not change at all. Clearly, my bike has the power to go faster, but it is limited (either in the controller or the display). I suspect the controller.
But, I have a much faster bike on order, so I have not felt the need to tinker with the Zeegr S1 to squeeze a bit more out of it. I suspect (but do not know) that a higher voltage battery (such as 52 volt) might squeeze a bit more speed out of the bike.
I know that the other cousin (SMLROv3) will hit 35 on level ground. It uses the same battery as both our bikes. I believe it uses the same motor as well.
