So far I'm very intrigued..sounds like it's the best of the BBSHD with torque sensing..but unlike CYC you can progra it and work on it yourself. Anyone know availability, pricing, etc? Found a few good review vid ride alongs and it looks like it handles hills with ease and doesn't overheat.

California-Ebike.com is selling them via pre-order. They're a pretty good vendor. Usually include tech support with their sale.

Gotcha. Going to try to not be impulsive and wait for some long term reliability and performance reports. So far I like what I hear..but did with Photon as well..then was relieved that I didn't pull the trigger once I heard you can't repair them yourself, and they have heat control issues, and power closer to BBS02 as opposed to my BBSHD..screw that...aint sending a motor back because of an error..talk about pain in the ass..there is a reason we are DIY guys.

The 'send the motor back' part is a regular service interval for like every 3000 miles or somesuch. Its not in the Photon manual but I know its there somewhere. Has to go back to a licensed dealer, so at least it doesn't have to go to Hong Kong. Power levels are at 2000w but it is best to think of it as if it is a BBS02 on steroids and not a BBSHD. That is going to come with a bigger follow-on motor, I hear.
