Thumb to twist throttle problems

Hi I have taken off the thumb throttle as shown in picture one and am having issues getting twist three wire throttle to work, I assume it’s one or the other with the red on off switch so tried them wired together and left apart no joy, so onto the wires for led thumb display, slow med fast assumed these can be just taped off, lastly I’ve tried I think every permutation of the wires and still not working please help I’m going nuts over this.
