Will make a great ebike. BBSHD or CYC mid drive kits.

Depending on your budget & usage, but standard MTB conversion could be straight forward.
Disc brake is likely better for conversion, will also provide better braking for extra speed you'll have with a motor.

The only thing I would do different is find a dual suspension bike.
