I have built a two stroke Frankenstein bike from parts and it is a blast to ride. So the next build will be an ebike. I am reading all I can right now on electric bike motor kits. What I do know is that I want a rear hub motor, possibly 1000 - 1500 watts brushless, gearless, 48 volts and I would like to run a 52 volt battery. I am still not sure if I will be using a 24" or 26" wheel. I would like to motorized my Redline Proline cruiser (24") or building a another bike from scratch using a 26" wheel. I am considering carrying the battery in a backpack to lighten up the looks and weight of the bike itself...just an idea my mind keeps going back to. Any tips for someone just getting started in ebikes? I am glad to be a member!

Welcome. I built a gas assisted bike a while back. It was a reliable little Chinese 2 stroke, but the manual clutch gave me problems.
