Solar Powered Electric Bicycles

I want to mount a solar panel on top of an electric bicycle so that it powers the motor and charges the battery. It will also provide shade and protection from rain. Has anybody here made a solar powered electric bicycle before?

The most common method is to build a bicycle trailer and mount a solar panel on top of the trailer. Here are some examples:

I'm thinking of a two wheeled design using 2 x90 Watt flexible panels - one off of the handle bars and another over the panniers. These will then feed in a 10 Amp battery on the frame. I will also be keeping it in pedal assist mode.

I've seen another design on a tricycle if three wheels are your thing. Not sure how you will go in a strong wind with just two wheels, you might get blown over...
