My battery is showing its age, after powering me for 12,000 miles over 10 years so can't complain. It's part of the Shimano STePS system on a KTM Ventura bike.
Looking for a replacement I discovered the E6001 which seems to be compatible and offers an extra 20% capacity. So 20% more miles!
But I couldn't find a definitive statement anywhere, including the Shimano web site, that it was really compatible. In the end I decided to take a chance and bought one.
AND - it all works a treat!
Charges on my old charger, fits mechanically, works as expected on the bike, and amazingly the bike seems to know it's got a higher capacity battery because the estimated range has gone up by 20%.
So if anyone has an aging E6000 I'd suggest you get yourself an E6001 at the amazing price of £299 at Merlin Cycles. They are advertised at up to £550 elsewhere!
Just thought I'd share my little bit of joy.
