Rotor Cleaning

How many miles does everyone clean their rotors?

What do you use?

I use mineral spirits
Unless they get contaminated, you shouldn’t have to clean them. The brake pads constantly clean them for you.

There are brake cleaners and isopropyl alcohol can remove oil or grease if they get contaminated from handling or if you are changing the pads.

For me - isopropyl alcohol always has worked well for me - I have not used mineral spirits even though there are "some" that say you can - and I wwould NEVER use brake cleaner. You lightly sand pads to remove contamination - and replace when necessary

I just wipe mine down with isopropyl alcohol as needed, and at least every couple weeks when I do my routine maintenance (general wipe down, tighten bolts, lube chain, pump air, etc).
