I have a ridstar q20 and it fell over while using the kickstand. Now the fork seems bent. How did it bend so easily and is it unsafe to ride now? I took it for a spin and it seemed fine, but a little concerned.
Your fork is not bent. The neck of your bike is loose and when your bike fell over it was jarred out of whack
Thanks. I haven’t with bikes since the 80’s. I’ll take a look
You're mistaken on this one.Dude ... look at the wheel. It's not bent, it's twisted.
That's not from tipping over unless it tipped over a cliff.![]()
Thanks again. It took some elbow grease, but I was able to get it back into the correct position.Your fork is not bent. The neck of your bike is loose and when your bike fell over it was jarred out of whack
Thanks. Yeah, I saw this post too and the comments about safety checks definitely resonates.Hi @RobertH, while you're at it, make sure to locktite the front axle. I'm sure you've already seen the other thread about the front wheels coming off the Ridstar Q20: https://ebikesforum.com/threads/ridstar-q20-fork-replacement-any-suggestions.8744/
Thanks. It took some elbow grease, but I was able to get the fork repositioned using this method.Your forks are only tweaked not bent. You can probably stand over your forks, holding the wheel between your legs, and twist the handle bars back into place. Then you can tighten the clamps on the triple trees a little. Check the axle bolts too.
