I had some fun today resurrecting a vintage kids trailer to set it up for carrying my dog. My online trailer was too wiggly and stressed the dog out. I’m hoping the two wheel version will be better.
The old trailer had a weird hitch that is supposed to fit in the rear triangle, but it just wouldn’t work with a suspension bike.

I ordered a generic hitch and it bolted right up in place of the one on the trailer tongue, I was even able to use the existing bolt hole.

So now I have two trailer hitches on the bike.
The trailer tracked well on a short test ride and I was able to do u-turns to both sides without a problem.
I think it’s going to work.
I have a couple of fabric snaps to repair and I need to fabricate a solid floor but those should be easy.

Yes, knowing the person that originally bought it this was a top of the line best in class trailer in its’ day. Burley is a good brand now and was even better then.
Now I’m trying to decide what to make the floor from. I’m thinking maybe some type of structural closed cell foam board. You know, like the waxy white board they pack bikes in for shipping.

My little Allen trailer just has a sheet of hdpe plastic for the floor. You could try corrugated plastic. The big box stores sell it. I wonder if interlocking drainage tiles would work. I know you can cut them if need be. I just saw this on Amazon. This is a 12 pack.
