I need to replace the BMS on my 52 V battery my knowledge of electronics is very basic it currently has a 14 S 30 amp unit is it ok to put a 14 S 35 or 40 amp unit on instead, as I can obtain one of these a lot quicker than my original 14 S 30 amp unit

yes you can put a higher amp BMS in your battery as long as its the for the right voltage and a number of strings of cells as you battery. Tho your controller still will not draw more amps than it can draw on its max amp draw.

also depends on the brand BMS you get if its the same style and brand but just rated for higher peak amps. a lot of times the balance lead wires and plug will plug right onto the replacement BMS so it saves a lot of soldering if you don't have to also resolder all of the cell balance wires which on a 14s would be 15 wires.
