Hi
I have a 2024 Cannondale Mavaro hub drive citybike
The display and thumb boost lever are playing up and I wish to change the display..
Would anyone be able to suggest which display I need to purchase... currently it's a King meter digital ii

I would first go over all of your plugs to see if they are seated properly, making sure to align the arrows. The motor on that model is the Bafang 350w. Your display is linked to your controller, which could also be what you are having trouble with. You cannot buy a display without it matching the controller. If it's a 2024 it should be under warranty and you can go through Cannondale. Even if you went out and bought a new Kingmeter display it wouldn't match Cannondale's programming. If you decide you want to go custom at some point and convert an analog bike, there is a good UK kit builder in one of these threads and I can hunt it down for you, but for now you are stuck with Cannondales own selection, unless you want to replace most of the electrical connections on the bike.

Hi thanks for your reply
The problem is that the thumb boost lever has come away and now the bike is showing 2.5mph at standstill . The performance is a lot better however The biggest problem is that when charging is complete, the rear wheel starts to spin up and the bike drives across the kitchen

Well, thank you for making me laugh today. :giggle: Those should definitely be warranty issues. Can you unplug the throttle and see if the charge issue resolves itself. You may just have a ridiculous short in the thing . We don't have that sort of throttle over here because we are all speed demons, but that may be a generic part in England. If you can, post a picture and I will have a look around.

The second picture shows the spring and lever completely detached from the display , yet it still is telling the bike that the boost lever is being used....this makes the 3 power settings irrelevant as it's flying along now BUT I can feel it lurching, almost like it wants to go even quicker....I love the slight performance but I can't leave the bike unattended on charge because it tries to escape the house and go off for a ride on it's own

So....I can disconnect it, charge it , then reconnect.
Seems like a relatively easy work around

Is that for your display too, because that's a lot of pinouts. I was thinking you wanted to upgrade your display but you really just need that whole replacement part. Cannondale should be able to get that for you. Make sure you tell them you have the rear hub motor edition because most of them have the Bosch midrive ,which would be a different display.Yes, that work around is a bit sad, but doable. Make sure you line up the arrows on the plugs and be careful because the pins are delicate.

That's from the display . It controls lights as well as that weird throttle

It's also controlling your pedal assist. If they get you the part you should be able to install it. Let us know how it goes.

I had one more thought for you. Your brake levers have a motor cut off switch in them, so when you need to slow down you are not fighting the motor, this is probably how you've been managing your throttle short as you ride. It occurred to me that when you charge the bike, you could tie some string or elastic around either brake lever and this should keep the motor in the off position, so it doesn't surge across the room. This would be easier then fishing for the plug and would hold you over until your part comes.

I was thinking of sitting the back wheel on some training rollers, but the brake lever trick will be even easier! Thanks

Update....
I have charged the bike this evening, turned the handlebars 90° and clamped the brake levers shut.
After 2.5 hrs , I chickened out and took it off charge.
The second I disconnected the lead, the display powered on and the back wheel started to jostle and push forward.
So we have learnt that the brake levers DON'T kill the motor ,AND my bike doesn't want to live in my kitchen LOL
