Hi all! My name is will. I am trying to fix a Wired ebike that I acquired at a yard sale. Im not sure of the name of it. Before the dual battery freedom. The Wired bike that had problems with the controller getting too hot and burning out. Before they fixed the bug.

We'll my question is this I need a exact controller correct? I tried to get one thru wired ebike website but they want original owner and I dunno if it's possible to find.

Can I order a universal one? It is a 60v bike so I dunno. I even tried to fix it by soldering the capacitor that popped. Can anyone direct me in the right direction to where I can buy a replacement controller? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here is the controller

I would try to continue to reach out to wired customer service or warranty service. There's got to be some way to communicate with them maybe through contact us on their website that's gonna be your best. Bet if that doesn't work you're gonna be in for a lot of work with rewiring because you're gonna have to change the controller and the display that match each other and then tie them into all the wiring in the bike. Before you do all that what is the status of the battery? Do you have the charger for the battery.? If the answer is no to both of those you've got something that's probably not really fixable for an affordable price. I hope you didn't pay too much for this thing at the garage sale.

Hi, some people on Facebook have looked into new controllers from Flipsky, which can use Vesc programming software. The problem as I see it is, this is like saying you want to learn how to fly and you just bought an F18 fighter jet at a yard sale and can someone please help you fix it, when, what you really need to start with is a Piper Cub. I've put in a number of controllers and set them up, but I have never used Vesc, Flipsky or 60 volts. You can start by watching a lot of videos and learn about this, but you are really trying to jump the learning curve, trying to start at this level. Citizen Cycle on YouTube has been handling wired freedom for years. You could get in touch with him. There is also Area13 ebikes, he sells Wired Freedom bikes. He is in Grass Valley, CA. is that anywhere near you? He works and builds ebikes (also has a YouTube channel). He might be able to order the proper controller for you. You can watch some of his controller videos. What ever you decide to do, you are going to need help with this one.

Yes I have the 60v battery that's in great condition I also aquired a charger that works. I don't know too much about e. Bay and if I got another controller, I would have to rewire a lot of it in order to fit the plugs to the accessories that I have already or do I have to change the whole thing? Will any controller work with the motor that's on that back tire wheel. Or how do I look for another one? I appreciate any help you can give me

Try google lensing the tag and you should have no trouble finding a replacement.

My guess there is that's a Wired part number. Maybe a KT controller that has specialized plugs for the wired. Sorry not much help. The wires you show look like the connections to the display motor etc. Most e-bike controllers have short leads coming out of the controller with square / rectangular plugs or plugs built in that then hook up to wires AKA the wiring harness and from there to the parts, display, throttle, PAS, motor etc..

Hey man really appreciate your knowledge and taking the time to respond

Can you post a photo of your motor plug from the motor? I was not sure yours was a KT controller. This is from Canada, Affordable Ebikes. Notice the motor plug. Does it match yours? If it does, you might want to jump on it because I have no idea what the tariffs will be by August 1st. You could talk to them and see if they have sold them to Wired Freedom owners and also ask if it is compatible with your display. Most KT controllers are fine with each other but you are in high voltage, rarefied air.

Soon as I get home I will take a picture and post it. Also as far as the display goes it does not have a name or modle # on it, how do I find out what kind of display it is?

Hi, I need you to undo your motor plug and take a picture of the end of it, actually both ends would be good, like in the photo from Affordable Ebikes. It may be on the opposite side of your cassette side and it could also be tucked up underneath the chainstay and zip tied. It may be just a plug, but is more likely to have a screw collar, with that voltage.
