Remove battery when transporting?

I use cooler, dry bags for storing long items because they have a roll top which extends the bags length, if it's needed. If you wrap a gel pack in a face cloth and seal it in a baggy and add that to the cooler bag, I think you will be fine.
Thats a super neat idea I missed when you posted it. Costco sells a Titan cooler bag that has two separate sleeves that sandwich in a couple of flat pack gel blue ice paks. Like this one pictured below, that Amazon sells. The Costco one as usual is not regularly available and is better than anything Titan sells directly. And it costs less.

If I don't have the flexible gel packs available its not unusual for me to stuff in a couple of blue ice bricks into each side. The interior doesn't get wet.
 
I like the look of that bag. Hey, if you get a chance can you jump, over to the " Bafang G062 display problem" thread, it's new and it has me stumped. I think it's right in your wheelhouse.
