please help me fix my ridstar q20

As far as we can see you have a hailong style battery on that ridstar. You can buy one off of amazon or have on built and have your
original one rebuilt if need be. I'd contact Kevin @Northeast Battery Systems, LLC (860) 951-1468 nebattsys@gmail.com
He will tell you exactly what you need and it'll be quality when he is done with the build. :)
Also he can rebuild your battery then you'd have 2 batteries and he can walk you through a dual battery discharge balancer installation ;)

I actually have one of those types of batteries mate. XT-60 connector and everything.
If i recall correctly i paid around $240 plus shipping I dont think i paid over $250 for it and i used it on an ebike for 9 miles.
I think this is what you need but we'll see when we have some help from others on this :)

Do you own a multimeter? If not you should get one. Then starting at the battery itself check each and every place power needs to pass through using the meter. Keep moving forward until you find where the power stops and at that point you should have found the problem.
thanks ill try it

So in case it's not clear, here are some first steps I would suggest:
  1. start by removing the battery, and measuring voltage directly on it. If you don't have voltage and it's supposed to be charged, then the problem is directly at the battery
  2. otherwise place it back, and measure voltage on the battery's wires, where they plug to the controller's wires
  3. it's there's voltage, make sure to power everything up, and check voltage on wires coming out of controller and towards the display. It's usually a several-wire connector, made of small wires. You'll get one black, one red, and several of varying colors. Check that there's voltage between the red and black one
