Pennsylvania looks to accommodate ebike riders in state parks, forests

Any Updated Information Available Yet - I Believe All Bikes Are Allowed On PA State Park Hiking Trails Unless Otherwise Posted

I live in Berks County PA and ridden a bike in this area for years. There are some decent bike paths close to me with nice groomed trails, lots of riders too. It's a beautiful place to ride.

Glad I have residence in PA:

As e-bike use grows, Pennsylvania looks to accommodate riders in state parks, forests:

while i havent seen any specific bans on ebikes in VA on MUPs motor vehicles are pretty much banned on VA trails unless its a jeep trail, now the crazy thing is horses are allowed and those critters can be mighty dangerous and their hooves are hard on any surface, particularly if they have steel horse shoes with hard facing( guess the General Assembly must be full of horse lovers( the snobs!)hate me later.

PA in my opinion is really lacking in the bike path area. I see other states with beautiful bike and walking paths, but in PA they are far and few in between. I have 1 nice bike path in my area, it is groomed and smooth and 8 miles long and requires me to drive a car 15 minutes to get to it, so I guess I'm lucky. Other bike paths are a lot longer drive away and not nearly as nice. Riding on the city streets is a disaster waiting to happen, almost every driver has a phone in their hand and doing 30 mph above the speed limit. I see a large number of rude, pissed off drivers everywhere I go, and they are all in a big hurry to get where I don't know. The speed limit on my residential street where I live is 35 mph, everyday cars are doing 50, 60, or more there.

I don't know about VA in particular but as I understand it (compliant) e-bikes are considered the same as any bicycle so you should be able to ride your e-bike anywhere you can ride a regular bike. Ignore any signs that say no motorized vehicles or no motorbikes on trails they are talking about motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc. If the sign say no e-bikes then yeah they mean no e-bikes.

The only trails you can't ride an e-bike on here in Colorado are in wilderness areas where there are no mechanical conveyances allowed, and yes you are allowed horses, donkeys, llamas to ride or as pack animals. It's also the case on really high traffic trails but then you wouldn't be allowed to ride a bicycle or skateboard or any other thing either. I ride regularly in the national forest and the state park nearby and although I have seldom encountered a ranger I have never had them give me or my bike a second glance.
