Pedego tandem- remove speed limiter??

I purchased a Pedego tandem bike and it does not have the pedal assist strictly a thumb throttle, I’m wondering if there is a hack to bypass the 20 mile an hour speed limit setting on the bike.

You would need to buy a new LCD to replace the old one one that is preferably controllable

Is it the display or the controller that limits the speed?
