Hi, I purchased an AIMA Santa Monica Ebike a few weeks ago. Tested it at the store, and brought it home.... Due to weather and life etc, have not tried to ride it until now. I know how to add the fully charged battery, turn it on, ride it /pedal and then push the Assist Arrows, but there seems to be no Assist and the assist #'s on the computer do not change. Everything else seems to work. I am attaching a picture - The bike has Shimano gears and the computer says Bafang on it. I tried to call the store for support and the phone just rings... All the youtube videos I watch just seem to be Generic jabbering, I look at the instruction manual and the pictures are poor. In the picture I am attaching, please note the arrows I am pushing which don't seem to do anyhting and below those is a plastic square with lines on it that pushes down but does not seem to do anything. Hopefully, I am just missing something simple. Any suggestions ? Thank you!

I will also add, this was purchased from a reputable dealer and I can go back there for support. However, the weather is good today and they are closed on Monday.... Additionally, I live in a rural area and it's quite a drive to get to the dealer.

Well, it's a holiday and it's winter the shop may be taking some time off. The bike you bought is a nice choice and they are trying to stay connected through Lbs's. I'm a bit jealous. It's a lovely bike. You can start by following the wire from the buttons or the display to it's julet plug and checking that it is properly seated, unplug it and plug it in again, (make sure to align the arrows). If everything else is working including the throttle, it's very localized and should be easily fixed. At your cranks there is a pedal assist sensor that usually has a little red light on it. Is that on? How it sits is important too. It may have been bumped during the trip home. If it is pushed too far away it can't send a signal. If the light is not on then you can check that plug too. I'll post a pic. of what pas sensors look like. Let us know how it goes. If the pas sensor is askew I can try to find a video on adjusting it for you.

Thank you -I appreciate your insight - I will check it out and let you know !

AnnieOlnie, you might be in with a win already this morning ! See that 4 on the picture below? That is progress ! As you suggested, I reseated the connetor from the up/down button on the computer side and now that # is visible and changes. We are at 36 degrees right now and buried in fog. As soon as the fog clears a bit I will test it out in our driveway! Thank you! ! !

You are very welcome. Ebikes are a series of components, for the most part, there won't be anything you can't handle. :)
