I have had a Nireeks revenant about a year now. I am on my 3rd controller. With only a hundred miles on the 3rd one It started giving me problems. Nireeka has been good about sending me new ones with no problem. But there is a problem if they all keep going bad. What I am experiencing is problems with the pedal assist. It will stop working. Sometimes if I shut the power off and turn it back on it works again. Sometimes if I just wait a little bit it starts working. Last one it just quit working all together. Remind you that the throttle works all the time. Even when the pedal assist doesn't. No error codes come up. Each time I swapped them out the new one would work. Got about 350 miles out of the original. About 350 miles out of the second one. And after 100 miles the 3rd one is starting to act up. I tried to sign on to the Nireeka login to talk to someone about this. Says their website has no certificate and been out for a week and they haven't renewed it. Of course I can log in to the other account to buy one. But not the one I can ask for help. So if any of you out there have any ideas for me please share it. You can email me waspaloy@aol.com or I guess leave something here.
Thanks

I had no trouble getting on their website. They are in Canada, so I'm sure they are non too pleased with us right now. You have the Revenant? Which motor do you have and how is the current controller acting up? What particular display is on your bike? They are Canbus displays and controllers, so it is a fairly closed system. I believe these are all Bafang motors and controllers with matching displays. Maybe they are going at this from the wrong end. You might need the display. They list a good amount of parts on their site, which is somewhat unusual. Have you tried calling their Delaware number? They do look like a nice bike.

I have the 1,000W motor. Pretty sure it’s a bafang. 840W battery. DP C07 display. I wrote my symptoms in my first post. PAS with torque sensor starts giving me trouble and gets worse as time goes. But the throttle never gives me trouble. Even when the PAS not working. If it was the torque sensor changing the controller wouldn’t have helped. I already sent them a email but they haven't replied and usually don’t on that end. Havnt tried to call them yet. Just getting a jump on this. Yea pretty sure Canada not so happy with us but not so upset to sell me another one I’m sure. I can get on that web site. . It’s a beautiful bike. I truly couldn’t be happier with its performance and power. But none of that’s going to help me if the controller keeps going bad. Yes you could be right. Could be something else but you think they would have said something when I was on my third one. Was out on it yesterday going fine. All of the sudden the PAS stop working. Throttle working. Shut it off. Turned it on and it was fine. But that’s how they all started out and get worse from there. Not even 50 miles on the new controller. The web site I have gone to order parts and get warranty parts is Http//app.nireeka.com/en-us/login Says their certification expired 9 days ago. When I order the controllers from there under warranty they gave me no problems. Just sent them. I have not tried calling yet. Pretty hard to do when I’m at work. When I can I will if my computer attempt fails. Just trying to get some non partisan feed back so to speak from people like yourself. And thanks.

If you have had the same problem with Pas throughout 3 different controllers and you still have throttle, then I'm betting your torque sensor is the culprit. I was trying to find an easy way for you to test it, but there doesn't seem to be one. I did find someone having a similar issue on EBR and I'll post that. I know a fair number of people have torque sensor issues. I threw the Revenant torque sensor and the controller in my basket on their website and had no problem with it, so if you are not under warranty and are not worried about the cost you should be able to do it. The sensor is a stock Bafang item, if you use the exact same part number you can also buy it elsewhere. I'm going to post the number here, so it is there for reference.

The torque sensor is something to consider. Only if ones to think that it could be ruining the controller somehow. Like I said before after I install the new controller it always works fine. They actually got back to me. Said that the web site I couldn’t get on was under maintenance. That they would have a technician review my problem. The warranty just ended yesterday. I’m hoping since this was a problem since I got it more or less that they will take care of me. They actually been good with warranty issues. The torque sensor is a bit of a job I think. Going to have to go buy some bike tools. I can swap out a controller in 20 minutes. I’m wondering if I drove around on the throttle all the time if it would do in the controller. I really never use it. I don’t ride the bike on trails. Just the streets. Up some modest hills but the bike is made for the woods. Wouldn’t think the street would be a problem. Could be the motor also. At this point being I really havnt read any Nireeka revenant uses having this issue with going through controllers. Was thinking they could of had a bad batch. Anyhow I let you know how it turns out.

I don't think how you're riding it should hurt anything, but if the torque sensor has a short, it could keep shorting controllers. Removing your bottom bracket is not too hard, there are a bunch of YouTube videos on it. Let us know what they say. Good luck.

Update. Nireeka got back to me today. Turns out I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. So they are getting in new updated controllers in a month from bafang and going to send me one. I’m satisfied with that and they have been pretty good at sending the other controllers with no problems. Like having to send the old ones back. Wasn’t burdened with having to pack them up and mail them. Never gave me a hard time or the run around. My controller works good enough for now to get me by for a month. I always got the throttle to get me home if it quits all together. Over all. They taking care of it. All I can ask for. Thanks for your input. Appreciate it.

I'm having the exact same issue on my Revenant 1000 that I purchased last fall. I only got a few rides in before winter came, but had it happen then. Now with spring/summer here in WI, I've been riding it more. What you described is exactly what I am experiencing too. I just emailed them to see what they recommend. Maybe I'll needed an updated controller also?

Your issue reminds me of my plasma cutter when I got it several years back. It turned out they had used a substandard mosfet once they figured out it had the wrong one they sent me the right one and I soldered it in and never had another issue. It sounds to me you may be having a similar issue.

Mavz. What did the say. I just tried to reach out to them because it’s been 5 weeks. Just looking for an update. Sent 2 emails. Even though so far they been taking care of me, it still takes 2 to 3 emails to get them to email me back. I’m just curious on what they said to you.

Waspaloy... They are really quick about responding. I'm not sure what email you're sending it to but you can try this one... support@nireeka.com

This is the response I received...

"Hello,

Based on your explanation, the controller unit inside the frame is faulty and must be replaced. We created a warranty order for it and the shipping cost would be $27.

An invoice will be sent to your email for paying the shipping fee. The controller will be sent to you under the warranty coverage.

The delivery may take about 2-3 weeks."

I ordered the new controller on 06/20... we'll see if it fixes the issue.

To be continued...

Yes I’m sending it to the same one you are. I seem to be lock out of the of the Nireeka web site. Said my email or password wrong when it’s correct. Tried to reset my password and it never sent me a link to reset it. Did it twice. I guess they feel like since they gave me 4 bad controllers that it was good enough for them. I was even thinking of getting the new spectrx and giving this one to my wife but I’m have 2 nd thoughts. Maybe they gave me a bunch of not so good controllers to begin with. Before I bought this bike I read a lot of terrible reviews. Hope that it’s not all true. Hope they don’t send you a bad one. I got to thinking with the controllers they sent me. How could they all be bad. If they were all bad everybody would have a problem. What’s the chances that I got 4 bad controllers in a row including the one in the bike.

I'm thinking if the controller doesn't work it's probably something with a pedal assist mechanism and/or the cadence sensor. It was nice that you didn't have to pay shipping. Are you in Canada or US?

I emailed them about my account login because I had the same problem where I couldn't log in and wouldn't get the reset email. They must have done something on the back end and reset it so I could log back in.

I’m thinking it’s probably the controller. If it’s doing what mine was. I got good and quick swapping the controllers out. I think it would be harder putting a new cadence or torque sensor in. I just tried to sign in to my account again. No luck. I Also requested an another reset. No luck there either. I honestly wouldn’t have a problem just buying a new controller and just skip the bulls**t. But not if it’s going to break after 350 miles. I just feel like they purposely ignoring me. I’m from the USA.

I can let you know in a couple weeks how this turns out. I really hope you can figure out your situation! This is such a fun bike and to not be able to use it is a shame.

Well I finially got a email returned. The guy couldn’t have been nicer. I pretty much explained everything all over again and didn’t get excited. It never pays to get excited. Maybe they just thought I was one of those guys that wanted something for free. Maybe it’s not the same person that answered my email to begin with. The guy said he will personally take care of this himself and send me a new updated controller. And that he will send me the tracking info when he does. So we will see. I have looked all around on the internet at e-bikes. This bike was the nicest looking by far and the most reasonable for the money. But only if it’s working. Hadn’t had any problems with anything else on the bike. I seen just plain mountain bikes go for twice as much. If I had to buy a bike off Amazon I wouldn’t own one. Not getting on quality of Amazon e bikes. That just not nice looking. I’ll let you know how this all works out.

Update. I have received the new updated controller. I haven't had a chance to put it in yet but they made good on the warranty. Never charged me for shipping. Azar the guy that took care of me made sure he would personally handle it and he did. That’s all I can ask for. Other than the controller problem everything has been great. I’ll stop back and tell you the status of the new updated controller. The old controllers seemed to be inconsistent when they were working. Sometimes it would feel easier to pedal in the same PAS number. Have fun all. Thinking about the new Nireeka Spectra. It looks like a pretty nice bike. Powerful.
