I have had a Nireeks revenant about a year now. I am on my 3rd controller. With only a hundred miles on the 3rd one It started giving me problems. Nireeka has been good about sending me new ones with no problem. But there is a problem if they all keep going bad. What I am experiencing is problems with the pedal assist. It will stop working. Sometimes if I shut the power off and turn it back on it works again. Sometimes if I just wait a little bit it starts working. Last one it just quit working all together. Remind you that the throttle works all the time. Even when the pedal assist doesn't. No error codes come up. Each time I swapped them out the new one would work. Got about 350 miles out of the original. About 350 miles out of the second one. And after 100 miles the 3rd one is starting to act up. I tried to sign on to the Nireeka login to talk to someone about this. Says their website has no certificate and been out for a week and they haven't renewed it. Of course I can log in to the other account to buy one. But not the one I can ask for help. So if any of you out there have any ideas for me please share it. You can email me waspaloy@aol.com or I guess leave something here.
Thanks

I had no trouble getting on their website. They are in Canada, so I'm sure they are non too pleased with us right now. You have the Revenant? Which motor do you have and how is the current controller acting up? What particular display is on your bike? They are Canbus displays and controllers, so it is a fairly closed system. I believe these are all Bafang motors and controllers with matching displays. Maybe they are going at this from the wrong end. You might need the display. They list a good amount of parts on their site, which is somewhat unusual. Have you tried calling their Delaware number? They do look like a nice bike.

I have the 1,000W motor. Pretty sure it’s a bafang. 840W battery. DP C07 display. I wrote my symptoms in my first post. PAS with torque sensor starts giving me trouble and gets worse as time goes. But the throttle never gives me trouble. Even when the PAS not working. If it was the torque sensor changing the controller wouldn’t have helped. I already sent them a email but they haven't replied and usually don’t on that end. Havnt tried to call them yet. Just getting a jump on this. Yea pretty sure Canada not so happy with us but not so upset to sell me another one I’m sure. I can get on that web site. . It’s a beautiful bike. I truly couldn’t be happier with its performance and power. But none of that’s going to help me if the controller keeps going bad. Yes you could be right. Could be something else but you think they would have said something when I was on my third one. Was out on it yesterday going fine. All of the sudden the PAS stop working. Throttle working. Shut it off. Turned it on and it was fine. But that’s how they all started out and get worse from there. Not even 50 miles on the new controller. The web site I have gone to order parts and get warranty parts is Http//app.nireeka.com/en-us/login Says their certification expired 9 days ago. When I order the controllers from there under warranty they gave me no problems. Just sent them. I have not tried calling yet. Pretty hard to do when I’m at work. When I can I will if my computer attempt fails. Just trying to get some non partisan feed back so to speak from people like yourself. And thanks.

If you have had the same problem with Pas throughout 3 different controllers and you still have throttle, then I'm betting your torque sensor is the culprit. I was trying to find an easy way for you to test it, but there doesn't seem to be one. I did find someone having a similar issue on EBR and I'll post that. I know a fair number of people have torque sensor issues. I threw the Revenant torque sensor and the controller in my basket on their website and had no problem with it, so if you are not under warranty and are not worried about the cost you should be able to do it. The sensor is a stock Bafang item, if you use the exact same part number you can also buy it elsewhere. I'm going to post the number here, so it is there for reference.

The torque sensor is something to consider. Only if ones to think that it could be ruining the controller somehow. Like I said before after I install the new controller it always works fine. They actually got back to me. Said that the web site I couldn’t get on was under maintenance. That they would have a technician review my problem. The warranty just ended yesterday. I’m hoping since this was a problem since I got it more or less that they will take care of me. They actually been good with warranty issues. The torque sensor is a bit of a job I think. Going to have to go buy some bike tools. I can swap out a controller in 20 minutes. I’m wondering if I drove around on the throttle all the time if it would do in the controller. I really never use it. I don’t ride the bike on trails. Just the streets. Up some modest hills but the bike is made for the woods. Wouldn’t think the street would be a problem. Could be the motor also. At this point being I really havnt read any Nireeka revenant uses having this issue with going through controllers. Was thinking they could of had a bad batch. Anyhow I let you know how it turns out.

I don't think how you're riding it should hurt anything, but if the torque sensor has a short, it could keep shorting controllers. Removing your bottom bracket is not too hard, there are a bunch of YouTube videos on it. Let us know what they say. Good luck.

Update. Nireeka got back to me today. Turns out I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. So they are getting in new updated controllers in a month from bafang and going to send me one. I’m satisfied with that and they have been pretty good at sending the other controllers with no problems. Like having to send the old ones back. Wasn’t burdened with having to pack them up and mail them. Never gave me a hard time or the run around. My controller works good enough for now to get me by for a month. I always got the throttle to get me home if it quits all together. Over all. They taking care of it. All I can ask for. Thanks for your input. Appreciate it.
