Hey everyone!!
A few months ago I was trying to think of something fun to do with my 10 year old daughter and decided to dig my old bike out of the garage and go on a bike ride together. I bought her a new Trek Marlin 4 and she loves it and did some little mods to make it unique to her.
I had a 10 year old Trek bike that wasn't anything special but just being out and riding together was so incredibly fun. Being 43 now it's been a while since I had been on a bike and I really forget how fun it was just to go for a bike ride. After my wife saw how much fun we were having she decided to get in on the fun and also picked up a Trek Marlin 4 just a different color from my daughters bike.
Now it was time to decide what I wanted. With so many different choices of Ebikes it was quite the project to take on. Learn as much as I can and narrow it down to what I wanted. What I really wanted was a full suspension E-moped from Ride1up, a Revv1. I did realize though that it wasn't the best bike to pedal and it was more just for fun so I kind of forgot about that bike. I ended up ordering a Ebike from a small California company called Cycrown and it was a CycUltra model. An e-all terrain bike that had pedal assist to 28mph and a throttle that would also take you to 28mph. It was amazing fun taking it up hills and just blasting up to 28 when it was safe and away from cars/people.
We got into a pretty good groove of going for family rides and even some night rides with the bike lights which was really fun. Cool crisp night air and some empty roads is always a good recipe for a pleasure cruise. THEN I made the mistake of letting my wife try the Ebike on a hill and basically that was it, game over lol She decided she loved that bike and wanted one of her own. At this point I realized these rides of ours were more for fun and less for physical activity. We are pretty healthy and get our workouts in from gym and other activities so the biking was really just a fun something to do, a hobby.
I decided to give her the CycUltra and ordered myself the 1st Ebike or E-moped I guess you would call it that got me interested in the hobby. Is it practical? No.. But it is fun as hell and do I love it to death, absolutely. Just wanted to say I now get it and hope to learn a bunch from you guys!!
Thanks for reading if you got this far
