Hey Guys!
I live on the Oregon coast. We have SERIOUS hills, most parts of the world would call them MOUNTAINS. Right by my house the highway does a climb from 20 feet above sea level to around 1,000 feet! Anyway, I've wanted a fat tire electric bike for some time. With all our hills I knew I wanted an AWD, or dual motor. Originally, I was going to get an Amyet S8. I was very interested in the S6, but that stuttering shaking issue was a no go. Eventually I decided that a 26" would be the way to go. I'm doing a lot of beach riding and sand dunes, so the larger tire contact area is a plus.
I finally decided on a Zeegr F1 Pro Dual Motor AND Dual Battery:
I had some problems after assembly and that's how I found this forum! I was about 5 miles into my first ride over a mile down a beach when all electronics went DARK. There was no power. I had to push this 95 lb beast through thick sand and up very steep sand dunes. NOT a great first impression. It turns out the "battery equalizer" that combines the 2 batteries fried. I removed it to find it was a 30 amp unit. This bike has 2 - 1,000 watt motors meaning it needs at least a 40 amp unit. I'm just thankful it didn't burn me and my bike to the ground. The seller sent a new 50 amp unit from China. After tracking that for a couple weeks I got it, installed it and am now rolling
My confusion comes from all the nifty "automated assistance" features. I found that PAS is not great when navigating technical trails on ridges. I almost was "assisted" off a hundred foot ridge. The second problem is automatic - "look Ma NO HAND!" cruise control. This also is not great for tricky trails.
I decided to dive into the Personal Parameters. The manual that came with the Yl81F display explained the 18 different parameters, BUT failed to mention there may be a passcode to access said parameters. After much frustration and trial and error I found the code to be "1111". Once in the parameters I turned off pedal assist and set to "electric only." I also turned off Cruise Control, BUT it still activates.
I'll start another thread about this issue, but if anyone else here knows about it please let me know. What happens is if I have the throttle turned to one point (can be half or full, doesn't matter) for around 2 - 3 seconds it engages Cruise Control. When this happens it causes the following issues 1) I have to hit the brakes to deactivate it and 2) Giving more throttle doesn't increase speed. The Cruise Control has to be disengaged prior to accessing increased throttle. I was happy that I could turn off Pedal Assist through the parameters. According to the manual I should be able to turn off the Cruise Control. I set it's parameter to off "00", but it still engages. This is problematic for off road riding.
If you read all that thanks for your time!
