After considering getting an eBike for the past two years I finally pulled the trigger. Here's my cycling backstory - I started riding mountain bikes in 1989 after meeting this cute petite blonde in the office tower where I worked, she had one so..... I had to get one. We rode on some technical trails and also did 50k rides on paved roads on the weekends. I loved the longer rides and soon bought a Cannondale road bike. I did several weekends, and 5-day rides over the next 15 years, putting on an average of 2,500 - 3,000 miles per year. I bought a motorcycle in 2005, and the two bikes gathered dust until I sold the road bike in 2020 for about 3/4 of what I paid for it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when a younger colleague who owns an eBike informed me of the Yamaha sale ($2500 off, extra battery, 5 year warranty on batteries). I called the closest dealer and arranged a test ride on a Yamaha Cevante size L to see if the Wabash RT (Out of stock) size L would be large enough for me since I'm 6'2". I came home and ordered my bike which arrived a few days later at the dealer. Wow what a fun bike, love the pedal assist and will get out and ride it later today when it warms up. Very satisfied with my purchase and bought some goodies like water bottle cages, headlight / taillight, and under seat storage bag. Now I need to get a new helmet, which I'll order today. Old one the foam decided to turn to dust, put some foam tape on it until the new one arrives. KirkUS1 from SE Michigan

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!

Can't wait for mine to arrive. Ordered two weeks ago. Shipped Wednesday. Arriving sometime this week hopefully?

I'm an avid roadie with my local bike club. I envision using it when I want to ride with someone the day after a grueling ride the day before. I can make a serious ride into a recovery ride, if needed.

I'm going to add rack & fenders to mine as well as the lights. It's already 20 lbs. heavier, if I can add another 3-5 and make it more usable, so much the better.
