The most important first step would be putting child safety covers on all of your household outlets before that screwdriver makes new sparks.

Did you notice if the magic smoke escaped the battery?
They never work the same once the magic smoke is gone.

Hopefully it's protected by a fuse. If fused where it is located would be the next question.
