I did an ebike conversion with the mongoose dolomite that I have, and the rear axle is slightly bent, I am assuming from the torque of the motor. I have looked high and low to find a replacement axle and I have not been able to locate one. It is at leat a 230mm, if not a 235. Anyone have any ideas of where to find one and one maybe a little more rigid than the factory one. Thank you in advance for your help.

I guess this is a common problem with the Dolomite. There is one on Ebay, but they are telling you straight out that they don't recommend it for ebikes, so it is up to you. But I guess any axle is better than a bent axle.

This is a pretty common issue on the Dolomite once you add motor torque - the stock axle just wasn’t designed for that load. There are “high strength” 230–235 mm chromoly replacements on eBay for the Mongoose fat bikes, but even those sellers say they don’t recommend them for e-bikes long-term - they still bend eventually.

If you want something more durable you’ve got two realistic paths:

  1. Measure exactly (axle length, thread, diameter) and have a machine shop make one in 4140/4340 steel, or
  2. Upgrade the whole rear hub/axle system to something built for e-bike torque (thicker axle or thru-axle style).

Short-term, the eBay “high strength” axle will get you rolling again - just don’t expect it to be a permanent fix under motor load.
