I have been a motorcycle enthusiast for 45 years, kinda seeing the end of the line here, I don't have 100% of anything anymore, and you can get in big trouble in a hurry in an instant.
SO, I kind of got the bug for an EBike. Turns out there is a network of trails going 700 miles from the mountains in Asheville NC to Nags Head NC. I passes within 2 miles of my home, all divided into cool segments.
In seeking out a suitable steed, I went for battery power, motor power and speed, all with a motorcycle-ish feel. I settled on an Ariel Rider x-52, which I am really enjoying. Plenty of fun. I have only put a couple of hundred miles on it, but I am stoked about how far I can "adventure" in a very short period. I also took it to DC (hometown)and putted around there a bit.
I also got my wife one (a CO-OP 1.1) in hopes we'd be able to do something together now that we're both retired.

Welcome to our forum, sounds like you live in a perfect area.

Not a senior, but I've ridden motorcycles on five different continents, including the Arctic Circle.
I've crossed the North American Continent five times, even pedaled across once, before time of cell phones.
Many more motorcycles came & went; nowadays, I just kept the ones that are practical & reliable.

I think you made a good choice.

Interesting how many retired motorcyclists are here! I'm one myself, but thinking of an eMoped like our man Catseye.

Imagine how far you will go with a spare battery in each saddlebag?

LOVE that CBX you had! Wouldn't want to have to balance the carbs on it though...

I see "A" had an early 2000s Suzuki SV650; I had one too. Great bike.

Welcome to the forum!

Even my wife had a SV650 at one point.
They are just such flexible moto, easy to work on, bought and sold nearly a dozen of them over the last 20+ years, always turn a profit.
These days, they can still be found around $2k in my area.. just more beaten up.

Man that is sweet!
Ya, it's going g to be crazy. I've been waiting for 3 weeks for the dealership to build it. I might have it Thursday. It's driving me crazy, all the waiting, and excuses why it hasn't been built yet. In the mean time I think I've watched every video and review for this thing that there is lol. I'm ready to ride.

I'd imagine it require similar upper body strength as a sidecar rig to ride that trike when maneuvering at lower speeds.
I hope it serves you well.

It's been quite a few years but I was also a motorcyclist. I do miss it, especially in the spring but the traffic in my area has gone up and the skill level and attention level of drivers has seemingly gone down. So now it's e bikes for me. I do want to share something about that. I have a homebuilt delta trike - thats 2 wheels in back and one up front. At the moment it's running a 500 watt bafang front geared hub motor. With 1 48V lithium battery and me pedaling range was pretty good, somewhere around 60 to 75 km's depending on wind, speed, etc. So I found a dual battery connector from a U.S. vendor called area 13 and installed a 2nd 48V battery. The other night after finishing a ride with a friend the trike had logged 143 km's and was was just down from the full charge of 54.6 to just under 48 volts. And most of the ride was using level 4 power so I could keep up with my friend. That meant on longer stretches speeds of 28 kph plus or minus depending on stop signs, etc.

It's strange. You dont lean into the turn, you just steer it. Rode it home today (15 mi) in the rain :-(>. It handles nice, and tbe wet pavement isn't so much of a deal compared to a 2 wheel vehicle. I have lots to learn, and practice.

There nice back when they came out my neighbor where I used to live in lk Steven's wa let me drive or ride his yellow cam am and I love it. It's just what my Body can handle and you don't need a motorcycle I endorsement. Now there even got better.. we had a fully dress with tent trailer being pulled in my RV park and after talking to him he's taken it across and around US with he's wife.
Can't beat a CAM AM quality. I've just ran out of room in my space. But talking to the many they most have problems with legs, back and they still get to ride. Good for them and you. Myself it's my e bike that I love. Thinking of buying at Costco a haze folding for girlfriend to ride. I can put it in my SUV and my big Engwe Engine Pro on my back rack and she can go with me at times places which would be good healthy thing for her. At $499 are Costco that's a great price and great warranty Cosco has and I'll put insurance on it.
In late Aug my grandson at 15 1/2 6'5" 300 lbs I'll just rent one that will fit him to go riding. He's a big boy and I'm getting very excited to show him he's grandpa is a cool old man. Daughter told me he eats alot and I would think so. He wants to go in the service to be a army ranger, hope by then its a better Amry.

Hmm, we’re all rambling on about ourselves and preferences, but what about the OP, Catseye? What do you think?
