I have a Gen3 (identical to https://wallkeebike.com/products/wallke-x3-pro-step-thru, also no longer available). When I shift into 7th gear, the motor stops working. Downshift to 6th, motor comes back on. Shift back to 7th, motor cuts off. Any PAS, any speed.
Weird, eh?
Obviously, this is new behavior. My snarky response would be "Don't use 7th gear." More useful suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

Maybe derailleur pushing against cable harness and disconnecting something? I would try putting the bike in a low gear, raising the rear wheel and see if you can reproduce the problem by pushing on the cable by hand.

It looks great. Everything looks great. Everything is consistent, including the motor cutting off when I shift into 7th and coming back on when I shift into 6th.

It seems like in cases like this. I always ask if you've reached out to the manufacturer? The two activities, shifting gears, and motor running don't seem to be anyway connected.

Hmm... you say the throttle works, which is something that over rides the pedal sensor. If it were me, I'd mess around with the pedal sensor or at least reset it. At this point you're almost better off if you can make the problem worse because then you can diagnose it. Are your shifters integrated into your brake handles in any way? Brake cutoffs might be a culprit here. You could disconnect your right side brake cutoffs and see if that effects anything. At any rate, please let us know when you figure it out. This is a puzzle we would like to know the answer to.

One other thought, according to the EBR forums, you have regenerative brake capabilities. I know nothing about this except that often it causes trouble. If you go into advanced settings, can you shut this off and see what effect it has? This is just a guess, if there are any regenerative brake experts out there, please chime in.

Brakes are not regenerative, but I will definitely try the brake disconnect when I have a chance. Many thanks.

The "manufacturer" is a megasweatshop in China that makes zillions of ebikes like mine a week, only they don't make mine anymore. And the guy in CA who bought a warehouse full of them and sold them on Amazon is long gone.
And yes, they don't seem to be any way connected, yet they are. Maybe.

No change without the brake cutoff. Haven't been able to make it better or worse.
So now I'm ghosting in sixth.
Thanks, though.

I had written a post here recommending trying a new pas sensor but then I realized Walke, for some reason, uses a female jeulet plug instead of a male plug on the end of their sensor, no one does this and their sensor is expensive and out of stock. It would help if you can unplug your pas sensor and check that it is female at the sensor end. I would really suggest that you buy the adapter that I discovered because eventually you will need it if this is true, unless you cobble one together from Aliexpress. So, I am going to post some pics of what I found. I know installing a new pas sensor is, in some way, "firing the parts cannon," but people have a lot of trouble with them on Walke's and your throttle still works, so it is a possibility. The Accomile is right on Amazon.

FIXED!
Went through the settings of the controller.

PAS 4 looks fine. But PAS 5:

So, it's a computer, so reboot the computer.
Reset the controller, now everything works (though I need to restore my settings).
Weird solution for a weird problem.
Thanks for the suggestions.
