Mirrors - I'm posting this to the newbies just getting into e-bikes.

This is The One to Get. (unless you have drop bars)

The only one that can rival it is the EVT Safe Zone helmet-mounted mirror:

↑ That one's nice because it stays with the helmet, so can easily go from bike to bike and not be getting banged out of alignment in the garage. It's super dorky-looking though.

Both of those are Made in USA as well.
I bought the Mirrycle and really like it. It is small which is nice on my folding ebike.

Not sure I’d like a mirror sticking out from my helmet. Where could it end up if you came off your bike.
Bar end mirrors give a good view but are prone to damage by their location and increase the handle bars width if having to get the bike thru’ a door opening.

Good considerations.

My EVT Safe Zone helmet-mounted mirror is on an articulated arm, so if I were to smash my head, it would just bend out of the way. Probably wouldn't even break the zip ties securing it to my helmet.

All the edges are smoothly rounded, so I'm not worried about losing an eye. It's a little on the big side, but it works SO well. US-made too:

Only problem with it is when I'm maneuvering in a tight area after dismounting my bike, I bang it on things, since it sticks out several inches out front. Oh, and it doesn't play well with helmets with flip down visors, if you happen to have one of those few.

I haven't found a solution to the bar-end mirrors in the garage maneuvering. It's just one thing we have to decide if it's worth dealing with. For the Mirrcycle one, swinging it out of the way, overlapping the bar doesn't work, because it tends to loosen one of the screws that holds it firmly in place.

Garmin Varia does the job. Expensive but the best safety setup IMHO ever. I feel lost when riding without it.
Tried the mirror thing whilst touring (helmet and bike) but nothing compares to the Varia.

I bought $12 cheap bar end mirrors for my bike. Why? Bar end mirrors take the most abuse. Branches hit them, drop the bike, it hits them, maneuver to close to a wall, you hit them. $50 excellent mirrors seem to break as quickly as the $10 ones in use. I am not cheap, but mirrors are expendable. Even if I break one off, or both off, I can ride homer uneventfully. So I stick to the cheapo's. Oddly, the ones I bought from Amazon are no longer available, so I didn't post a link.

In any case, I highly recommend mirrors, especially if you are on the road. Electric cars can sneak up on you if you are only using sound for car presence.
