My best and most comprehensive build so far. Unless you know what to look for it looks completely stock. As fast as it is it's not a racer. Limitations of the 72v 20 ah battery require tuning to be restricted to no more than 80 battery amps, and 5000w motor output.. This gives it very nice street manners, but nowhere near the 10,000w needed to be considered fast in e nerd parlance. And that's ok with me. I'm happy to be able to cruise around at 20 to 30 mph with good acceleration, and capability to blast up to 45 or 50 if the situation should call for it. After I brought it back to life it told me it's name, and I find it quite fitting because moose are deceptively formidable in the wild. Meet Bullwinkle.

I don't see a plate; where is it legal to ride? I'd put a massive custom-built lithium pack as low in the frame as possible and eliminate the pedals altogether. It's not like you will ever pedal it anywhere, and there is no pedestrian infrastructure where it would be legal. It could be a fun little e-motorcycle. Make it a monoshock and lose a few pounds. I'd want more than "bike" brakes on that ride. 1440Wh if you smoke the whole pack?

Stay safe.

Since I'm not a lawyer I don't assume I'm qualified to answer that question, but this is what I've noticed in 15 years of riding eBikes on streets and city trails. If there's no pedals, the police call it a SurRon. If it has pedals they assume it's an eBike. If you're riding your eBike and your pants are on fire, they don't care. Some people refer to this as "The Loophole" LOL. Just in case though I'm prepared.

Good luck with that. I keep forgetting that so many Americans today just don't care about laws until they are forced to. But no ebike with a 5Kw hub motor is anything but an electric motorcycle; actually more of a moped. But still. Beware the insurance company.

Stay safe.

Back in the eBike caveman days in 2013 when I bought my first eBike, a 4500w Stealth Bomber for $10,000, it was considered the fastest eBike in the world. Before that I was a harsh critic of eBikes even though I didn't know anything about them. When it arrived I wasn't exactly wild about it's looks, but for performance it was the only game in town. It was so far ahead of it's time it was years before anything could catch up to it. Now after all these years the BGX is finally going to put it on the shelf, and for about $7,000 less.

I finally got Bullwinkle tuned, or detuned I should say. The main limiting factor is my battery. Now everything seems to be working pretty well together running 70 battery amps. I went on a 35 mile ride last night cruising in traffic and at some point it did this without breaking a sweat. It feels like this motor is more powerful than my 80 amp qs205 in my Stealth. Poor Stealth, after 12 years of refinement, Bullwinkle took less than 1 year to beat it. I guess you really can't stop progress. I've gone a little faster on the Stealth, but I wasn't even trying when I did this last night. This was without foc, and to add insult to injury Bullwinkle feels a lot more stable at high speed, and for 1/3 the cost.

That's a good looking and apparently fast bike! What kind of display is that? I like the look and I'm looking for ideas for my build.

I'm running a Kelly KLS7218S controller with it's new paired color TFT display. Kelly has a lot controllers you'll be interested in. Here's a link.

I'm going to be running an LMT 7050 Torqstar 3 motor which isn't an E-bike motor it's more of an industrial motor, small light weight and high powered. I just ordered it about a week ago and since it's international shipping it may be awhile before it gets here. It appears it only uses 3 phase wires and a temperature wire, I don't think it has any hall sensors. I'm going to need a water cooled 72V 400 amp controller or something in that range. Ideally one that can run on 48V for now and step up to 72V later.

Cross out park, & tell me that stately manor is your crib.
