About a month ago I purchased a Vitus E-Venon with a Mahle X20 hub motor. After the first ride I came back and put the bike on charge. When I inserted the charging cable in the charging port the HMI display began to cycle through all the colours (red, white, green, blue). I remove the charging lead and it continued to cycle through the colours. After about a minute it stopped doing this. I left the bike for about an hour and tried again and it charged normally. I've completed one more ride and have now tried to charge it again and I'm back to my rainbow lights of Doom.
I've contacted Mahle who said a couple of weeks ago they heard of this problem and had to contact the manufacturers in Spain as they had not heard of it before. They reeled off a whole list of possibilities which seem to cover everything from a faulty charging lead to problems with motors and batteries. Wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem or have I just purchased a Friday bike. Thanks

I found the basic manual for your ebike. They are willing to include a paragraph reminding you to always wear shoes that will stay on your feet, but say absolutely nothing about what error codes you may have and what they might mean. I think they are more accustomed to building analog bikes. I also think, they want everything to be proprietary and feel you should go to one of their mechanics for absolutely all of your needs. You will have to decide if you are OK with that. You might also want to ask them, if you needed a new display, what the order time would be. In my experience, the more proprietary an ebike company becomes, the less likely you are to even be able to get parts. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
