Macwheel e-mechanic anywhere out there?

We've got a Macwheel e-bike which fails to power-up after the first pedal rotation - it feels as if it's going to, then doesn't!
Can't find ANYONE prepared to look at it locally (we're UK Midlands) so if anyone knows of an independent cycle-electrical engineer, please advise!
