Today, we are having an Indian Summer day. It is sunny and 80°F (27 °C) and with a 22 mph (35 kph) wind. Between the high temperature and high wind, I was glad to have brough the eBike today. It would have been far too sweaty of a ride to take an acoustic bike.
It wound up being 8.8 miles: https://www.strava.com/activities/12775237740
Heading away from the salt mine, toward the lake. Cockpit view:
At the lakefront. We can just see the Southport Beach House along the shore. More on that later.
Here is the plaque showing that the beach house is an official landmark. Of course some A-hole teenager has defaced it a bit:
Here's my Level.2 busting a post in front of the beach house. That beach is pretty rocky; not really barefoot-friendly.
A bit further north, a MUP goes off the street and into Southport Park. Kenosha used to be called Southport, hence the name. That is a nice little inlet that is full in the summertime. Today, there were just a couple of retirees looking for attractive stones.
I guess you could say that I brought out the big gun for today's ride. (nyuk-nyuk-nyuk)
More to come in the next post.
