Hi there

I"m looking to buy a folding electric bike.

Ideally I'd like it to have lights front and back, suspension (front and rear of possible), a UK three pin plug on the charger and have 20" wheels. Probably in the £1000 price range.

Can anyone make any recommendations?

Many thanks
James

I have a Lectric XP 2.0 step thru folding ebike........good quality.....good price.......I really like it. Welcome and good luck.

I'll summarize my folding e-bike research from spring 2022. I was focusing on brands available in or around the San Francisco Bay Area. From low to high:

1. Lectric XP 2.0 (closest showroom to me is in Phoenix, AZ) $999 US
2. Rad Power Rad Mini 4 $1499 (Berkeley, CA dealership/showroom)
3. Rad Power Rad Expand 5 $1499
4. Eunorau E-Fat-Step $1499 (Las Vegas dealership/showroom)
5. Snapcycle S-1 $1599
6. Aventon Sinch $1799
7. Blix Vika+Flex $1799 (Santa Cruz, CA)
8. Magnum Premium II $1999
9. Pedego Latch $2595
10. Tern (Vektron Q9, Vektron S10, HSD S+): $3699 to $5699

The Brompton C-Line Electric Folding (2023) is $4,050. Quite beautiful. Super light at 38 pounds!

Also, check out youtube videos. Search "2023 folding electric bike" Most of these are mail-order bicycles from Amazon or the manufacturer.

Find a local dealer who offers test rides!!!

good luck!!

If you can test ride....great....but most ebikes can't be test riden. With that said.....I can tell you that my Lectric came fully assembled in the box......I added air to tires.....adjusted seat and handlebars and went riding. I did have to make a minor brake adjustment after a few rides but....that was easy. Good luck in your search.

I live in San Francisco, with plenty of hills, and bought a Dahon K1-Plus (about $2300). I added an under-seat bent steel shock absorber to ease the bumps. It rides well and climbs hills well.

A lot of the replies here are US-centric. You may have completely different e-bikes available there in the UK than we have here in the US.

Not that this isn’t a global forum, but most members seem to be American.

Please let us know what’s available there, preferably with links, and we can provide more useful recommendations.

Welcome to the forum!

I live in Canada. I know there is an electric bike brand called EMMO that has folding bikes which have all requirements you want. Their website is emmo.ca. I am not sure if they can ship to the UK, but you can try to contact them.
