I'm looking for people's opinions on a good soldering unit for working on ebikes. I just want something that will last.

Here is my to do list of soldering tasks on my ebike:
  • Replace Anderson Connector from BBSHD with XT90
  • Make a XT90 Splitter
  • Make a Battery Cable lead with appropriate XT90 connectors on each end
  • Replace XT60 with a XT60M

Possible future soldering tasks on ebike:
  • Wiring markers
  • Wiring head lights
  • Wiring brake lights
  • Wiring turn signals
  • Wiring a Horn
This is what I have come up with based on reading reviews:

Hakko - Digital soldering station end safe version with 5 extra tips

Weller - WE1010NA Digital Soldering Station

Any ideas?

I am happy with the Hakko soldering station. It comes with all of the tip styles you will need for your soldering projects and it has a decent holder.

The unit is controlled with just enough heat for those XT connectors, you don't want to overheat them or it will soften the plastic. Don't forget some wire strippers, side cutters and some needle nose pliers.

When soldering XT90 and XT60 you can plug them into another plug - this acts as a heat sink to dissipate the heat (and if you accidentally overheat them they wont become out of shape!
