Looking for new motor for 2020 Juiced RCS

I think he would at least need new gears. He has to match the size, the number of notches and the exact slant. If he wants to go that route, he can give us the data and we can look around. He could also buy a new core and pop it into the shell, but that will also need the measurements, or he can say, "this is all too much" and just buy a new complete rear wheel and perhaps keep the old one for a rebuild project later on. We all have our own comfort zone with these things. I definitely would have chucked the controller on your bike, and bought a new one. :giggle:
Annie: I am getting a new motor and the plug adapter. I plan on having the motor installed and I will keep the original motor. I then plan on attempting to rebuild the old motor. As I am new to this, I want to be cautious and take this route. I now see that there is a tremendous amount of information and support on this forum. I look forward to learning and doing more maintenance and repairs since there are people on the forum who are knowledgeable and very willing to help. Thank you.

Just take things slow and if ya get flustered just stop and step away and get some kombucha and talk things out ;)

Well, I think you are being smart and adventurous. It's good to have the bike running as you figure out the old motor. It will put less pressure on you. If you need further help with parts, or finding videos on removing the parts we are right here. :)

This just turned up on Ebay. You would have to check with the seller, but it might just pop into your old case perfectly. At any rate, the pictures will give you a good idea of what your motor looks like. I noticed it even has your plug. It's an awfully nice price.

@Annieolnie your respect for people in general, your gentleness, and your respect for people's perspectives in particular is very soothing, as I mentioned previously, so I can only applaud it.

I don't mean to push in any way.

I just don't understand the idea.

In order to swap his motor for the replacement that you found on ebay, he would have to open the case. This is exactly the same operation he would do in order to remove the broken bits of teeth.

Thus I don't understand why it would be less trouble to do that, than to first open the motor, see if the gears are broken, if so remove the bits, and if not order a motor.

Is it because he can have the motor swapped by a bike repair shop, and not open the case himself?

Wouldn't it be also doable to ask a bike repair shop to open it first, see if there are broken teeth, etc? In essence do the same outsourcing, but first ask them to open it to see before ordering a replacement?

If you hand me a tax form, I break out in a cold sweat. We all have things we can't do. If someone gets nervous taking apart a motor, or even so much as a light switch, it is not going to go well. I have a friend who tried to fix her own plumbing and dropped a wrench on her face and chipped a tooth. If you so much as hand her a pair of pliers now, she will put her fingers in her ears and leave the room singing, la, la, la, loudly to herself. It is better not to ask people to go where they cannot go. It is fun for you, because it is your skill, but if it is not someone else's skill, it will not be fun for them.

What would you do if someone handed you some cold sweat though

Hi Annie. That motor core is perfect. The measurements that are shown on the ad match those on the original motor. This looks like an easy and rather inexpensive fix. Thank you.

You're welcome, but please don't say, "easy peasy and cheap", right before you start working on an ebike! Best of luck, to you. :giggle:
